Planning Success!

We are delighted to share that An Bord Pleanála have approved the proposals for the Riverine Community Park!

McAdam led the project team, on behalf of Donegal County Council and Derry City and Strabane District council, in developing the proposals for a park of regional significance, located along the banks of the River Foyle. The proposed park includes outdoor events space, managed parkland, enhanced river access, junior and senior adventure play areas, community hub building and a pedestrian and cycle bridge that will span across the river, representing a physical and symbolic link in connecting the communities of Strabane, Lifford and their rural hinterlands.

A story in numbers:

30 acre dedicated cross-border and cross-community shared space

2 transboundary submissions An Bord Pleanála

1 transboundary Environmental Impact Assessment

McAdam successfully delivered the application with our project partners The Paul Hogarth Company; MCL Consulting; Wallace Whittle Ltd; Sammon and our team of specialist sub-consultants; Hoy Dorman; John Cronin Associates; McCloy Consulting; Parkhood; Tobin Consulting

Following this positive planning decision, Donegal County Council in partnership with Derry City and Strabane District Council, reaffirm their commitment to deliver the Riverine Project and continue to work with funders and relevant supporting Government Departments to agree a strategic funding and delivery plan going forward.
