Peace Bridge, Londonderry

In April 2009 the Contract for the Design and Construction of a new Foot/Cycle Bridge across the River Foyle in Londonderry was awarded to Graham Construction by the Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness and the Minister for Social Development Margaret Ritchie.

The Contract for this 240m span Iconic Bridge will be Project Managed by McAdam Design and this followed an earlier Feasibility Study in 2007 which was led by McAdam Design.

The Peace Bridge will provide a crossing from the former Ebrington Barracks site on the Waterside to Guildhall Square on the Cityside.

The structure will physically and symbolically unite both sides of the River Foyle. Work on the £13.3m project will begin in September 2009 with completion scheduled for October 2010.
