Lower Ballinderry WwTW

Lower Ballinderry wastewater treatment works is currently undergoing improvements to ensure that the facility will meet the needs of the growing local population and also to improve the quality of discharge to meet future standards based on river quality needs.

The improvements include increasing the biological treatment capacity by way of a new roughing filter, in addition to construction of a new inlet works and storm water holding facilities.

Commissioned by Northern Ireland Water and delivered through the Integrated Waste Water Framework (IWWF), construction work on the £1.4m project commenced on site in November 2008 and is due for completion by April 2009.
